Today’s theme is a result of some…theme-matching rather than a purpose-built one.
On my way to the dump today….yes…we have to go to the dump as we have no garbage pickup, I saw these little guys crossing the road.
Why were they crossing the road you ask? ….isn’t it obvious…….Chicken’s day off!
Pigeons….and LOTS of them and what is unusual is we hardly have any up here.
I guess we don’t have enough statues for them but whatever the reason there they were…blocking the road.
Perhaps northern Pigeons don’t fly in the cold….they walk instead…who knows but there they were…..striding across the road as if they owned it.
As you can see in the picture we still have a tiny bit of snow so there will still be a limit to the exciting pictures I can post….at least until the excitement arrives!
For you bird lovers be assured…no Pigeons were harmed in the editing of this shot.

Seems to me rather unusual, too … so you will have to build some more statues …

this is funny – looks like they just decided to block the road for you. We have no rubbish pickup either – but I don’t usually take my camera on the trip to the tip – will definitely do that now!

I enjoy the colour you inject in offering us commentary featuring the minutae of our daily lives with your Lecock-ian (is it an Ontario characteristic?) humour.

super shot, commentary is fun, and I wonder why you’ve not many pigeons, was there something on the road they were eating or just out for a stroll?

Why does the pigeon cross the road? I have never seen pigeons walking en masse that way. Maybe the winter’s gotten to them and they think they are lemmings.
